Precautions for Precision Forging Production

Forging operations should focus on safety protection, equipment maintenance, environmental management, material control, operational standards, and emergency measures to ensure efficient and safe work. The specific implementation should be carried out in the following six aspects: 1. Safety Protection Measures Operators must wear safety helmets, protective glasses, and flame-retardant work clothes to prevent injuries from metal splashes. The hammer operator must precisely control the hammering direction, ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped to avoid slipping or tipping, and maintain high concentration to respond to emergencies. When working in teams, roles should be clearly defined, commands kept consistent, and misoperations avoided. 2. Equipment Status Monitoring Before operation, check the integrity of core components such as forging hammers, molds, and anvils, and confirm that bolts are not loose. Focus on maintaining the lubrication system by regularly replacing oil and cleaning oil passages to prevent abnormal wear caused by oil shortage. During operation, start equipment according to procedures, prohibit overload operation, and stop immediately for inspection if abnormal responses are detected. 3. Work Environment Management The work area should implement the "5S" standard, promptly clean scale and waste materials, and maintain passage widths of at least 1.5 meters. The workshop should be equipped with mechanical ventilation, and cooling measures should be activated when the temperature exceeds 35°C. Equipment spacing must meet safe operation radius requirements; hazardous materials such as gas cylinders should be stored separately with emergency escape signs installed. 4. Material Process Control Select billet grades such as carbon steel or alloy steel according to the part's purpose, and inspect surface cracks before furnace entry. Use segmented heating methods, controlling the initial forging temperature of carbon steel within 1200°C and the final forging temperature not below 800°C. Billets must begin forging within 30 seconds after leaving the furnace; billets reheated more than three times should be scrapped. 5. Forging Process Standards The hammer operator should use a "light-heavy-light" hammering rhythm; complex parts should be forged using dies. Each heating deformation amount should be controlled between 20%-75%, with timely temperature monitoring using thermometers to avoid cracking caused by low-temperature forging. Forged workpieces should be buried in sand for slow cooling; high-carbon steel parts should undergo annealing treatment. 6. Emergency Plan Execution The workshop should be equipped with AED defibrillators and first aid kits, and conduct monthly fire drills. Protective barriers and safety isolation zones should be set up for accidents such as mold breakage or workpiece ejection. Establish a rapid response mechanism for equipment failures, with maintenance personnel required to arrive on-site within 10 minutes for handling.
